Can I File for Chapter 13 Bankruptcy? | Chapter 13 Eligibility Requirements
Most people looking at Chapter 13 bankruptcy do so because their income is too high to pass the bankruptcy means test that would qualify them for Chapter 7 bankruptcy. Although there is no income limitation, you cannot receive Chapter 13 discharge for more than $350,000 in unsecured debt or $1 million in secured debt. Very few people are unable to qualify for either Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 bankruptcy.
If you are looking for an Indianapolis debt-relief lawyer to help you find the road to financial freedom, call one of our Indianapolis law offices, call our Columbus, Indiana, office or contact us online. We offer free initial consultations, and we give you detailed up-front information about our fee arrangements, so there will be no surprises.
Even if you fail the bankruptcy means test for purposes of Chapter 7 bankruptcy, this test will determine how much you will need to repay in a Chapter 13 repayment plan.
